ATLANTA INTERIOR DESIGNER: The Kats Meow...

Ikat that is! The new Damask of modern designers?

Ikat is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dye. Commonly described as a "bleeding" design featuring multiple wild colors or even classic black & white. Ikat can be used on pillows, bedding, rugs, upholstery, or whatever your imagination desires!

You'll love Ikat, it's so fun!

I will be Ikat-ing something up very soon- whether it's a piece of furniture or new window panels- this is up and coming in the DIY section!

Where do you think Ikat looks best? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Happy Designing!

  1. I love those purple chairs and the orange bedding. Can't wait to see how your Ikat-ing turns out! I'm finally making a commitment to redecorating my home - slowly but surely and affordably as possible. My husband and I are going to our first ever flea market today. Woot! Wish me luck! Found your blog on SITS. Looks like you're doing a great job. Now following!
